Play areas and other things to do
The Ark Nature Centre
Step into a world of adventure in the exhibition From Forest to the Sea! At The Ark, children can climb up to a miniature lighthouse and a birdwatching tower, balance their way across duckboards, and even crawl into a bear’s den.
From time to time, The Ark also offers fun hands-on workshops designed especially for children.
It’s the perfect place for families to explore, play, and discover nature together.

Rosenlew Museum
Step into the museum’s entrance hall and have fun trying out old telephones or tapping away on a vintage cash register. On the second exhibition floor, you can spin an ice cream machine and test your skills at guessing different kinds of wood or pump air to the miniature locomobile and see it in action.
Laari is a space where children and families can enjoy activities together, and it also occasionally hosts both self-guided and guided creative workshops for kids.

The Building Preservation Centre Toivo
Korsman House – a 1950s home that belongs to Toivo – together with its courtyard always offers fun activities during school holidays.
In the courtyard playroom, children can enjoy everything from hobbyhorses to building blocks. Challenge your family to a sack race or try out the spinning wheel! The playroom is free to access whenever Toivo and Korsman House are open.
In the summer, creative children’s workshops are held twice a week.

Satakunta Museum
Kamari, located next to the museum lobby, is a cozy space where families can spend time together, play, and enjoy interactive games. It also occasionally hosts both self-guided and guided workshops for children and adults alike.
In the permanent exhibition Signs of Life, children can step into the atmosphere of early 20th-century trade by playing shop in a reconstructed store room, race toy cars across a traffic mat based on Pori’s 1938 city map, or even try their hand at plowing on a running mat. You can also unwind in a rocking chair or put your feet up in a 1970s-style living room.
It’s a fun and interactive way to explore history – perfect for curious minds of all ages.
